Playshops

What is a play shop?

My Playshop concept focuses on playful exploration: dance lessons should be fun! I give suggestions, impulses and support. Aside from choreography, right and wrong, it's about a harmonious and relaxed (further) development of your skills.

Notes on clothing

For all playshops, I recommend movement-friendly clothing and for your feet, shoes with thin soles, barefoot or non-slip socks to ensure good contact with the floor and your body.

Topics

  • Creativity

Children exercise creativity in play and draw on a seemingly endless pool of imagination. Age and everyday life often lead to a restriction of movement patterns and imagination. This is why "play" is a top priority in this Playshop: We use a playful mode to explore different movement qualities and live out our creativity. We are supported by rousing music and, if necessary, various instruments and other "play equipment". The head can stay at home, the body takes over this day with all its potential. No previous knowledge is required.

  • Connection

Dancing with other people can be like having a conversation together. How we express ourselves determines how the conversation goes. This playshop is aimed at curious dancers of all levels. No specific dance is taught, but the topics of connection, leading and following are covered. Awareness of the principles of leading and following can be expanded using dance education exercises. Dancing with others offers an intensive experience of non-verbal communication. The goal is to be able to make the shared dance a pleasant experience. In addition, the interpersonal connection as well as aspects of responsibility and trust are experienced and trained.

  • Grounding

All dance usually begins on the floor, and yet its potential is often literally overlooked. However, the conscious perception of the floor can also be used as a source of inspiration, security and posture. In this playshop, we will use creative and movement-educational methods to get in touch with this often underestimated dance partner while sitting, lying and standing. No previous knowledge is necessary. Even experienced dancers can enrich their repertoire here.

  • Expression

Anyone who likes to move to music can dance! This workshop offers the opportunity to get to know, develop and express your own dance skills. This can help you develop an awareness of your own individual style. Moving your body to music can be fun and feel good! Various dance-educational exercises and musical styles offer a variety of approaches to dance movement. You can explore what appeals to your talents and preferences and train physical expression.
